Thriving through year 11 a guide for parents and students

Welcome year 11 students, parents and carers to the year 11 blog. We are keen to keep you up to date on all things exams, careers and wellbeing related to make sure that this is a year in which our young people thrive, take full advantage of the support and opportunities they are offered and ultimately go on to great things.

We kicked off with a survival guide to year 11 last week, thankyou to so many of you for attending and providing the positive feedback that you did. For those who were unable to attend or those who did but would like a recap of key messages here is a summary of key messages to takeaway between and parents evening on the 25th November:

After Academy intervention is running 3-4pm every day. If you child has been invited to a subject intervention this will appear on their SMHW account. On nights that your child has not been invited to subject intervention we would like to offer them a welcoming and supportive study space in the library running 3-4pm. This student space will be in operation from 11th October.

Build revision habits early – we recommend that students build up to 15-20 hours of study per week. This includes after academy study/intervention. We are teaching students how to revise through our morning tutor programme, students will be provided templates to take home to use to support half term study.

If you still wish to purchase revision guides you can do this via the Academy website using our revision guide catalogue:https://clfacademies-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/rebecca_tushingham_clf_uk/EQgY3N2JpQFBsloIrskF5T0BIqUo4rBEudj73-FeFz3qDw?e=RPhVF3

PPEs take place in the first 2 weeks of next term. A timetable will be published shortly and subject are already supporting students with revision tasks.
