Curriculum Information

The Science Department at HWA has teachers with a varied range of scientific backgrounds and knowledge which ensures students develop broad understanding of the sciences.

We want all students to understand science in order to make sense of the world around them and to be able to critically analyse information that is presented as scientific fact (for example in the media). This will also enable them to make informed future life choices.

We offer both Combined Science and Triple (Separate) Science at GCSE with the Edexcel exam board.

The Science Curriculum Map sets out an overview of the curriculum in Science from Years 7 through to Year 11.  Among other things, it sets out what is studied, why it is studied, as well as the keywords needed in each year.  Students and parents are likely to find this useful.
