Student Voice

Hanham Woods Academy values the voice of our students hence the formation of House Councils.  House Councils include elected students from each tutor group from a range of Year Groups.

Regular meetings take place to discuss a variety of topics which are important to our students.  House Council success includes charity work with regular food bank collections, the formation of the Board Games Club which is hosted in the Academy Library and a booklet for new students written ‘by the students for the students’ to make them feel more comfortable in the first few days at Hanham Woods Academy.

House Council gives our students a voice amongst other skills such as debating, and negotiation skills, leadership skills alongside confidence and responsibility.
