Academy Choir and Bristol Beacon Performance

Dear Parent/Carer

We are excited to announce that, starting January 2026, the Music Department at Hanham Woods will be extending our extra-curricular offer with an Academy choir open to all Year Groups, led by our wonderful singing teacher, Mrs Dyson. Mrs Dyson brings a wealth of experience in leading school and community vocal groups, lessons, and events.

Choir sessions will take place every Wednesday at the end of the Academy day from 3pm to 4pm in the Music Room, beginning in January 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage creatively at Hanham Woods, and there will be numerous events and opportunities to perform in a variety of settings.

As part of launching the choir, we already have our first performance opportunity:

Wednesday 11th February at the Bristol Beacon.

Students will learn a vocal arrangement created by one of our fellow CLF Music teachers. Each school will come together to perform as a large choir, alongside showcasing talented students from across the Trust.

Further details regarding rehearsals and arrangements for the Bristol Beacon event will follow soon.

Please note: All students are welcome to join the Hanham Woods Choir even if they are unable to participate in the Bristol Beacon performance.
