Academy Choir

As part of the Music Department at Hanham Woods, we would like to remind you that students from all Year Groups are warmly invited to join our Academy Choir.

The choir is led by our wonderful singing teacher, Mrs Dyson, who brings a wealth of experience in leading school and community vocal groups, individual lessons, and musical events.

Choir rehearsals will begin this term on Wednesday 29 April 2026 and will take place every Wednesday from 3:00–4:00pm in the Music Room, at the end of the Academy day.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage creatively at Hanham Woods. Choir members will have the chance to participate in a wide range of performances and musical experiences. Students will learn to sing a variety of musical styles, with a particular focus on Musical Theatre and Popular Music.

During the summer term, we are delighted to be performing at several events, including:

• The Summer Showcase
• The Academy Awards Evening
• Lunchtime Concerts
• Community Outreach Events, such as performing alongside local primary schools and entertaining at local care homes

Please note that all students are welcome to join the choir, even if they are unable to take part in every performance opportunity.
