BTEC Sport Science GCSE Examination – Thursday 8th January 2026 (Selected Students Only)

Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope this letter finds you well.

I am writing to inform you that your child will be sitting their BTEC Sport Science GCSE examination on Thursday 8th January 2026, during the morning session.

This exam is a key component of their qualification and will contribute significantly to their final grade. Please ensure your child arrives at the Academy on time, well-rested, and fully prepared. They should bring all necessary equipment, including pens, pencils, ruler and a calculator.

If your child is feeling unwell or unable to attend on the day of the exam, please contact the Academy Reception as soon as possible in order that we can advise on the appropriate steps.

In preparation for the exam, intervention sessions will be running on alternate weeks leading up to the Christmas break. These sessions are designed to support students with their revision and exam technique, and we strongly encourage your child attends. Further details about the schedule will be shared with students in class and posted on the relevant noticeboards.

Additional revision resources are available to support your child. These include:

  • Past exam papers, which can be collected directly from me. When returned I will mark them. If possible, students should try to sit it without access to books.
  • Access to the revision guide and practice assessments book, both of which are still available to purchase through the school.
  • Revision flashcards, which students create during each lesson. If you are able, please support your child by testing their knowledge on a weekly basis.

Students should be aiming to complete a minimum of one hour of revision per week for this subject, in addition to any homework set.

Thank you for your continued support in helping your child succeed.

Yours sincerely,

Emily Baker
Teacher of PE
