BTEC Tech Sport Practical Assessment (Selected Year 10 Students Only)
Dear Parents/Carers,
I am pleased to tell you that your child has made a positive start in their studies on the BTEC Tech Award in Sport course. They have already made a start on the coursework elements that count towards their final mark. All coursework must be completed in school.
As part of this current component, they need to be filmed for their assessment. This is for 10 minutes and will only be used in moderation and for confirming the marks we have given them with the exam board. This will be happening on Tuesday 2nd December 2025. Please do your best to ensure your child is in the Academy on this day to ensure we can carry out their assessment. If they are absent the assessment will need to be carried out after the Academy day. Students will be given a time to attend their assessment ahead of the day. Students are allowed to wear their Academy PE kit in on this day (HWA PE top, black shorts/leggings, HWA Rugby shirt or HWA Fleece). Please note, students are not permitted to wear hooded sweatshirts.
We are also carrying out a coursework support session on Thursday 27th November at the end of the Academy day, in IT3. Your child can attend this if they feel they still have improvements to make or outstanding work to complete on the written coursework. The deadline for the coursework to be completed is Wednesday 3rd December 2025.
