GCSE Geography Field Trip – 9th October 2025 (Selected Students Only)
Dear Parent/Carer
As you are aware, your child is currently studying GCSE Geography. A compulsory element of the course is the opportunity to participate in fieldwork; the students will then be required to use the data that they collect to prepare for their upcoming GCSE examination. We will be visiting the Temple Mead Quarter of Bristol to look at the ongoing regeneration in this area on Thursday 9th October 2025.
The trip will take place within the normal school hours and we will be travelling to and from Temple Meads via coach. A packed lunch will be required as there are limited shops in this area to purchase food. Students are required to wear full Academy uniform, but can wear comfortable shoes and an appropriate coat depending on the weather. Please would you also highlight the importance of good behaviour and compliance to Academy rules when off the Academy site.
Voluntary contributions are necessary if this visit is to take place. The amount required in order to fund this visit is £15 per student. No student will be omitted from the visit should the voluntary contribution not be paid. However, we do need to cover the financial costs of paying for the trip and if the cost is not covered, the trip will be cancelled. This could have a detrimental effect on the outcome of your child’s GCSE grade. Students who are in receipt of the pupil premium may qualify for some financial support with these payments.
In order to secure a place for your child on this trip, please follow the instructions below by no later than Tuesday 7th October. Failure to meet this deadline may result in your child not being able to participate.
