Industrial Action – 18th and 19th June 2026

Dear Parents and Carers

Further to my previous letter regarding the possibility of industrial action at Hanham Woods Academy, I am writing to confirm that representatives of the National Education Union have notified us of their intention to strike later this week.

This means there will be changes to the Academy routine for children in all Year groups on Thursday18th June and Friday 19^th June 2026.

We recognise that colleagues have raised concerns, particularly in relation to behaviour and staff experience, and discussions with union representatives are ongoing. Our shared priority is to ensure a safe, supportive environment where both students and staff can thrive.

I will write to you tomorrow (Wednesday 17^th June) with specific details for each Year Group.

I appreciate that this may cause some disruption to family routines, and I am grateful for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation.
