Dear Prospective Students

Open Evening – Thursday 10th September 2020 – Virtual Presentation and Virtual Tour

I am writing to invite you and your parents/carers to attend our Virtual Open Evening on Thursday 10th September 2020. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 crisis we are unable to invite large groups of parents/carers onto the Academy site; this means that we will be making available a virtual presentation which you can access from the Academy website (https://hanhamwoodsacademy.clf.uk/open-event/) at 6:00pm on Thursday 10th September.  I will also be hosting a live Open Evening Q & A, if you would like to join, to ask any questions. To help provide you with as much information as possible, you will also be able to access a virtual tour of the site.  During your virtual tour you will be shown around the entire Academy site and will hear from staff and students.

This is a wonderful opportunity for me, as Academy Principal of Hanham Woods Academy, to share with you our ambitions and recent successes and can be accessed remotely at any time after this date.  We do, however, understand you may want to physically visit the Academy, and to facilitate this we are offering small guided Academy tours on the dates and times below:

  • Monday 14th September – Thursday 17th September between 4:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Monday 21st September – Thursday 24th September between 4:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Monday 28th September – Thursday 1st October between 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Academy tours will be 30 minutes long and will be led by a member of the Senior Leadership Team. During the tour you will have an opportunity to physically walk around the Academy and ask questions.

I do hope that you and your parents/carers will be able to watch the presentation, view our virtual tour and, if required, attend an onsite Academy tour. These events provide an excellent opportunity to see what Hanham Woods Academy has to offer you, and for you to hear about our current progress and plans for the exciting future ahead.
