Parent/Carer Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please find attached a joint letter from South Gloucestershire Council and Avon & Somerset Police with regard to the recent tragic incident that took place on Saturday 10th June (which includes signposting for support): SGC/AS Police letter

Furthermore, thank you to the families who have contacted us this morning about a post from a local school that has been shared on social media. Our local police and safeguarding teams are aware of this information and are responding appropriately. We have received this update from South Gloucestershire Council today:

“We have heard a rumour which is circulating across the local school community.

Students at Bath schools in Year 11 are all planning to meet up at the Royal Crescent, Bath after their mathematics GCSE today. We understand they are going there to meet up with students from Bristol and South Glos and some of these students may be carrying knives.

We do not know the validity of this statement, but the police have been informed as a precaution and we ask that you please make sure that your child does not attend this event or go to the area.”

We are in regular contact with the Police and the Local Authority and will continue to keep you updated.
