Results Day 2020

Dear Parents/Carers of Year 11 Students

Results Day 2020

I am writing to invite you and your child to their official results day that will take place on the following date and location:

Thursday 20th August 2020

Location: Main Hall, Hanham Woods Academy

9am-1pm by appointment only (see further information below)

We would like to give your child as ‘normal’ a Results Day as possible, however, you will appreciate that in the current climate there are a number of steps we need to put in place to overcome health and safety issues. This year, therefore, we are asking you to book an appointment in order to receive your results. The Parents’ Evening booking system is now open for you to book an appointment at a convenient time. To book a time slot for results collection please use the following link: https://hanhamwoods.schoolcloud.co.uk/.  The booking system opens at 9am on Friday 17th July 2020 and will close on Wednesday 19th August at 4pm.

We are offering a booked time for you to come and collect your results only; you are not booking a time to discuss these results. The reason that you are booking a time to collect your results is so we can adhere to the rules of social distancing, and to protect yourself, your family and the wider community. However, should you wish to discuss your results further, then there will be a number of members of staff on site to help you and answer any questions you may have.

NB: If you are shielding and do not want to enter the Academy, then results can be posted home to you providing you send a self-addressed envelope to the Academy addressed to the Exams Officers (Sara Partridge and Sue Smith) at the Academy address at the top right of the letter. This is in line with government guidance on the handling of post.  We are unable to post results home without a self-addressed envelope.

We will be adhering to the government guidance on social distancing during this time and to aid you with this, there will be many signs, staff and guidance to follow upon arrival. In addition, there will be markers on the floor of the Academy to help you keep a track of the desired 2m-distance requirement.

What to do on the 20th August:

In order to ensure staff and visitors to site are kept safe, please follow the instructions below:

  • Arrive at the Academy in line with the time of your appointment. Please do not be late as there will be someone there to meet you.
  • You will be taken to the hall to collect your results from the allocated member of staff.
  • Once your results have been collected, you are free to depart the Academy.
  • Please ensure that you do not congregate in groups on site, but follow staff directions about leaving the Academy safely.
  • There are staff on site to discuss results and next steps with you, should you desire.
  • You will be able to collect a Year Book if you have already ordered one.

Thank you, in advance, for your continued support of the Academy, and I look forward to seeing many of you on results day and sharing in the outcome of many year’s hard work.

Should you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yours sincerely

Louisa Harris | Associate Assistant Principal for Raising Attainment
