South Gloucestershire Cross Country Championships – Wednesday, 12th November 2025 (Selected Students Only)

Dear Parents/Carers 

Your child has been selected to represent Hanham Woods Academy and compete in the South Gloucestershire Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 12th November 2025.  This event is being held at Pomphrey Hill Pavilion, Emersons Green. 

This is a half day event and your child will need to be at the sports hall for 11.00am. We will return to Hanham Woods at approximately 3:00pm.  Students are required to wear full Hanham Woods Academy PE kit and trainers (most of the course is on a concrete/gravel path). Students need to bring an appropriate packed lunch, including a drink (no glass bottles please).  They will need suitable clothing for times when they are not competing; including warm and waterproof clothing as we will be outside all afternoon, and it could be cold and wet.

 our child will be representing Hanham Woods Academy; therefore, it is vital that their behaviour throughout the day reflects and meets the Hanham Woods Academy standards and expectations.  Failure to meet these expectations may result in a parent/carer being asked to collect their child from the venue. 

If you are happy for your child to attend, please complete the permission slip on the hard copy letter sent home with your child, and return to the PE Department before Monday 10th November 2025.
