Weather Conditions

Dear Parents / Carers,

We have had a great start to Term 6 at the Academy and I would like to thank you for your continued support.

As you will be aware, the weather is improving and getting warmer; temperatures are likely to peak today (towards the end of the Academy day) and then lower by a few degrees across the rest of the week (with peak temperatures occurring on most days, after the Academy day).

To mitigate these warmer temperatures the Academy will:

  • Ensure classrooms are well ventilated with windows opened first thing in the morning (and left open all day) to reduce temperatures;
  • Provide adequate opportunities for students to refill water bottles throughout the day (before the Academy day, break time, lunch time and after the Academy day);
  • Encourage students to make use of indoor / shaded seating areas at social times.

Students should continue to wear their uniform, although some may choose to take off their Academy jumper.

Please can you support by ensuring that students arrive at the Academy with a refillable water bottle.

We will continue to monitor the weather across the term and I will let you know if further mitigations are required.
