Year 10 Science Curriculum Information Evening – Monday 30 March 2026 at 4:00pm

Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to invite you to our Year 10 Science Curriculum Information Evening on Monday 30 March 2026 at 4:00pm in the HWA foyer.

This event is designed to give you a clear and engaging overview of what your child will be learning in science this year, as well as how we teach, assess, and support students with their home learning. We have now completed teaching Paper 1 topics, which will be assessed in the June PPE (mock) exams. Students will sit another mock exam in Year 11 (November) on these same topics.

This period is therefore crucial in preparing students for both sets of exams. A key focus will be developing effective revision habits at home. We cannot achieve this without strong parental support, and we greatly value working together to help students reach their full potential.

During the evening, we will:

  • Outline the key topics and skills covered across the Science curriculum
  • Explain how practical work, investigations, and assessments are approached
  • Share guidance on how you can support your child’s learning and revision at home
  • Provide an opportunity to ask any questions you may have

We believe that working in partnership with families is essential in helping students develop curiosity, confidence, and long‑term success in science-both in Year 10 and as they move into Year 11. We would be delighted to see as many of you as possible.

If you are unable to attend for any reason or have further queries, please email me at sara.thomas@clf.uk

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming you.

Kind regards,
Sara Thomas
Curriculum Leader of Science
