Dear Parent/Carer
GCSE Design and Technology Year 11 Important Information
As you are aware your child is taking DT as one of their GCSEs. I want to let you know of some important dates for the completion of the NEA (Non-exam Assessment) which is 50% of the overall DT grade that are coming up over the next few months.
- Development and final design complete – 1st December 2023
- Cutting list ready for ordering materials – 8th December 2023
- Practical finished prototype complete – 15th March 2024
- Evaluation complete and ALL NEA handed in – 28th March 2024
It is essential that they meet those deadlines so that they can complete the whole NEA by the final deadline of 28th March 2024.
Design and Technology will be open after school every week on Monday and Thursday until 4.30, and at lunchtimes. It is essential that they are doing NEA tasks at home or at the Academy at least once a week. Your child will have a list of tasks and feedback given to them regularly to work from.
If your child is struggling to meet the deadlines, then their class teacher will be contacting you.
