Hanham Woods Academy celebrates GCSE results

Hanham Woods Academy is delighted to celebrate the achievements of its Year 11 students following the release of the summer 2026 GCSE results.

The school community came together throughout the morning to mark the culmination of five years of hard work, resilience, and ambition.

This year’s outcomes reflect a strong performance across the curriculum, with the academy achieving an Attainment 8 score of 43.31. Notably, 62.1% of students secured a grade 4 or above in both English and maths, while 42.9% achieved grade 5 or above in these core subjects – representing an improvement on last year’s results.

Principal Kath Cooper commented:

“We want to congratulate all of our Year 11 students who received their results today. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and hard work. These results are a testament to their passion, commitment, and the unwavering support of our staff and families.

“At Hanham Woods Academy, we strive to aim high and raise aspirations for all of our students as they move into the next chapter of their education and training.”

A number of students achieved exceptional academic success, securing a suite of grades 7, 8 and 9. These include: Emma Knowles, Lily Hawthorn, Grace Clements, Harrison Price, Ava Balman, Arabella Bennett, Emma Chan, Sonny Webb, and Thomas Sullivan, all of whom have clear and ambitious plans for their next steps.
