Amber Weather Warning

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are currently in a Level 3: Amber warning for high temperatures in the coming days, likely to last until Wednesday 20th July 2022.

As a result, I wanted to remind you of the measures we are taking:

Adjustments to the Environment:

  • We will ensure temperatures in the Academy are kept as low as possible by keeping blinds closed and opening windows and doors, and where available we will use fans and air conditioning.
  • PE lessons will be scheduled out of the sun and adjusted to suit the conditions.
  • At break and lunch, we will open additional indoor areas so that students can get shade from the sun.

Hydration:

  • Please ensure your child comes to the Academy with a bottle of water which can be refilled during the day. Pupils will be encouraged to drink fluids regularly throughout the day and specifically after break and lunch and will be able to take their water bottles out to PE lessons.

Uniform:

  • Students can choose to wear their PE kit to the Academy from Thursday 14th July until the end of term.
  • Students should bring with them sun cream and a sun hat

Health Issues:

  • If you are concerned about any potential health risks relevant to your child’s health conditions, please contact us as soon as possible and we will support you to make appropriate arrangements.

All of the above measures will assist in keeping a reasonable temperature inside, and of course, as always we will continue to dynamically assess throughout the day.

Thank you for your continued support.

Dream Big, Work Hard, Be Kind.

Kind Regards

Mr O’Callaghan
