BE Project PSHE Talk – Years 8 and 10

Dear Parents/Carers

As part of our Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE) provision, students in Years 8 and 10 will have an informative talk that will take place in the Academy on Friday 15th July 2022.  The talk will be led by Jo Mallinson from the Bespoke Education (BE) project and they will be coming in to talk about drugs, summer safety and harm reduction. The Bespoke Education (BE) Project is a small Bristol-based consultancy working with organisations and schools who are committed to change-focused drug and alcohol education.

At the end of the talk the students will be asked to complete a survey about the redesign of young people’s drug and alcohol support services in South Gloucestershire.

In order to further inform the talk and make it relevant to the students at Hanham Woods Academy, Jo would also like to hear your views as parents and carers. In the first 4 minutes of this video Jo explains the survey, then she spends 15 minutes sharing some of the cannabis myth busting messages she will use with the students.

The video password is YPDAS and you can access it using this link:

The survey will take 1-2 minutes to complete and you can access it using this link: Your views are hugely helpful and will be used to inform decisions about the future of services in South Gloucestershire, so thank you in advance for taking the time to take part.

The video and the survey will be online until 15th July 2022.
