Bristol Clean Air Zone - Hanham Woods Academy

Dear Parents/Carers

You may be aware that Bristol City Council are due to introduce the Bristol Clean Air Zone on 28 November 2022. The following link is an ‘easy read’ leaflet from Bristol City Council which explains more: CAZ Easy Read Leaflet.

If you use a diesel car that was made before 2015, or a petrol car made before 2006, and drive through the Clean Air Zone to bring your child to/from the Academy, you will be impacted. There are very few exemptions (all of which end on 31 March 2023) and only a small amount of financial help for some people to change their vehicles.

The Academy will be trying to ascertain how many of our students this may affect and parents/carers will be asked to let us know if this affects you. In the meantime, if you require any further clarification on the above then we would direct you to make contact with Bristol City Council.
