COVID Isolation – Updated Guidance – 1st April 2022
Dear Parents/Carers
From 1st April 2022 the Government has issued updated guidance in relation to COVID.
Whilst the requirement for a specific Covid risk assessment has been withdrawn, and with the emphasis on learning to live with Covid and treating the same as any other infectious disease, the baseline controls will continue to apply. For example:
- Good ventilation/co2 monitoring in rooms
- Handwashing/sanitising
- Catch it bin it kill it
- If you are not well enough to be in the Academy then please do not attend (the same as with any illness, where you are not well enough to attend)
- Students are encouraged to take up the necessary vaccinations e.g. Flu, Covid etc.
Specific advice issued today states:
- children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend
Any student currently off with Covid beyond day 3 of isolation can return from 1st April 2022 if well enough and have no increased temperature. The requirement to provide negative tests to return is removed from 1st April 2022.
Please Note: We are no longer permitted to supply LFT tests to students.
Yours sincerely
Mr S O’Callaghan | Academy Principal
