Green Skills Programme Trip – 16th May 2025 (Selected Students Only)
Dear Parent/Carer
We are planning a trip to the Westonbirt Arboretum to take part in the ARB Show 2025 as part of the Green Skill Programme with SBY Youth.
The ARB Show is the biggest tree event in the UK, mixes education, entertainment, innovations and technology in a festival atmosphere- all within one of the world’s most important tree collections.
This is a great opportunity for students to find out more about green careers as well as employability and get involved in some practical tasks and activities.
This trip will take place on Friday 16th May 2025 with the coach leaving Hanham Woods Academy at 8:30am and aiming to return by 3:45pm.
The itinerary for the day is as follows:
10:00 – 10:45: Tree Climbing/ Games (Tree Climb is subject to availability)
11:00 – 11:45: Apprenticeship Talk
11:45 – 12:45: Lunch
12:45 – 1:30: VR Session
1:30 – 2:00: Free Time to explore the Show
There is no cost for the trip.

Please note that there is a trip briefing lead by the trip organiser from SBY happening on Thursday 1st May 2025 at 11:20am in M4. Students should register in their P3 lesson and then make their way to M4.
