KS3 End of Term Assessments
Dear Parents/Carers
Key stage 3 end of term assessments are taking place across all subjects this term. These assessments provide our students with the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, knowledge and understanding developed over the duration of the academic year. You will receive a progress check at the end of Term 6 which will provide an update as to the progress of your child against age related expectations in each subject.
Providing your child with the best chance of success as they move into the next year at the Academy, which for some will be the start of their GCSE and BTEC qualifications is a key priority for us and we aim to provide an excellent standard of support in the following ways:
In the Academy we continue to provide:
- Well sequenced lessons in each subject that support learning.
- Pastoral support focused on mental health and wellbeing.
- Revision material for students to aid them with their learning via SMHW.
- Prior warning for when assessments will take place, and guidance in assessments where appropriate.
Year 9 into 10 Transition:
- To support the transition from KS4 to KS4 Maths and Science assessments will take place in GCSE exam venues under full exam conditions.
- These will take place in lesson 3 on Thursday 23rd and lessons 3 and 5 on Friday 24th June
How you can help:
- Ensure students attend the Academy every day;
- Ensure students have a quiet place to revise at home;
- Encourage students to access SMHW where work has been put to support assessments.
- Contact the Academy if you have any concerns or would like support
If you require any further information or clarification in relation to the above, please do not hesitate to contact one of the raising attainment team by either calling the Academy reception on 0117 440 8900 or by email, using one of the addresses below
