Matilda Jr – Rehearsal & Performance Update

Dear Parents/Carers

We are writing to update you on our Academy Production of Matilda Jr.

As you know we have scheduled the performance to take place on the following dates:

• Monday 4th April -Dress and Tech Rehearsal
• Wednesday 6th April & Thursday 7th April – Matinee for Primary Schools and 7pm Performance.

We have also decided to have an additional Dress and Tech rehearsal on Friday 1st April, rather than the proposed date, Sunday 3rd April.

Students will need to bring in their costumes and props (scooters, skipping ropes etc) in advance of the first Dress & Tech so that they can be checked.

Tickets can still be purchased via our online payment system. Students will then be given paper copies of the tickets to bring home. Alternatively, you can purchase them from Reception.
When booking tickets, please remember that we have double cast some of the roles and named the groups as Team Wormwood or Team Trunchbull. Team Wormwood will be performing on Wednesday and Team Trunchbull will be performing on Thursday. If you have any special seating requirements, please email [email protected]

Key Information for the week of the performance:

During the performance week, students will be out of lessons. Students will need to liaise with their teachers to see what they have missed and will have to agree a time to catch up.

Students will need to come to the Academy during the academic day in their rehearsal t-shirts, bringing along any costume items, hair and make-up equipment that they will need.

Students will be asked to return to the Academy site at 6pm for the evening performances. We would advise that students bring their own drinks, preferably water so that they can keep hydrated as the backstage area of the Hall can get quite warm.
