National Anti-Bullying Week – week commencing 14th November 2022
Dear Parents/Carers
Next week (w/c 14th November), Hanham Woods Academy will be taking part in the National Anti-Bullying Week. It will be a chance to take time to raise students’ awareness of the support offered here at Hanhan Woods as well as to recognise the importance of speaking up and reporting any unkindness or bullying issues.
Monday 14th November is Odd Socks Day and students are encouraged to wear odd socks to school. The message being we are all different and that this should be celebrated.
Your child will also take part in other activities throughout the week during our Tutor Time Takeover and our Anti-Bullying Assemblies.
We would also like to take this opportunity to alert you to our new, confidential system whereby students can access a ‘Speak Up’ tile on the Student Navigator on our Academy website. Here students can report any concerns about themselves or others in a safe and confidential way, students can even choose to report anonymously.
We are strongly committed to ensuring that issues concerning unkindness and bullying are dealt with efficiently and effectively and we hope that students find partaking in the weeks’ activities purposeful.
If you have any questions about the planned programme, please do get in touch: [email protected]
Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Nicola Hurrell | Associate Assistant Principal
