Partial Closure Update – 30th March to 1st April 2022

Dear Parents/Carers

I regret to inform you that, due to the minimum length of isolation periods, other long term staff absence and a lack of available supply teachers, we continue to experience staffing difficulties at the Academy, and this is expected to continue until at least the end of this week . We have been working around the clock to try and source more supply teachers and explore alternative ways to safely have all Year Groups on site, however, unfortunately it is not possible at this current time.

It is important to prioritise Year 11 students being on site due to the close proximity of their exams.  In order to provide some parity amongst other Year Groups working at home the following plan will be put into place for the remainder of the week:

Wednesday 30th March 2022Years 8 and 9 will not attend the Academy and will access online learning from home.

Years 7, 10 and 11 will attend the Academy as normal (full uniform and equipment required).

Thursday 31st March Years 7 and 10 will not attend the Academy and will access online learning from home.

Years 8, 9 and 11 will attend the Academy as normal (full uniform and equipment required).

Friday 1st April Years 7 and 10 will not attend the Academy and will access online learning from home.

Years 8, 9 and 11 will attend the Academy as normal (full uniform and equipment required).

We will endeavour to return to full Academy opening again as soon as possible and will continue to communicate our opening arrangements with you as quickly as we can.

Students accessing online learning from home across the rest of the week will be able to access a mixture of tasks and live lessons through Show My Homework. Each day will start with a virtual live assembly at 09:00 (link will be posted on Show My Homework).

This is not a decision we take lightly and is ultimately a last resort. We wanted to let you know our plans with as much advance warning as possible to give you time to make alternative arrangements. Kind Regards
