Term 3, Week 3 – Working in Partnership

Dear Parents / Carers, 

The purpose of this letter is to first and foremost thank you for your continued support. The landscape in which we provide education is constantly changing. Your continued support through working in partnership with us is the key ingredient to developing the wonderful young people that attend Hanham Woods.  

Our mission is to give people the best chance of success and to achieve this we must work in partnership. We believe students’ learning and development are best promoted by Parents/Carers and Professionals working together.  

At Hanham Woods we make our expectations clear to students to support them to be successful:

• We champion all members of our Academy community and show respect for the Academy environment 

As Parents/Carers of a child at Hanham Woods Academy we need your support by doing everything possible to ensure that your child: 

• attends the Academy every school day, on time and does not take any holiday during term time;

• is fully equipped for a day at the Academy;

• is in full Academy uniform, including footwear, as set out in our Uniform Policy; 

• is adhering to our Academy policy for student appearance regarding acceptable jewellery, make-up and hairstyle; 

• support your child in home learning, remote learning and other learning experiences;

• support your child in preparing for and revising for examinations;

• attend Parents’ evenings and discussions about your child’s progress; 

• support and uphold the Academy’s policies and guidelines for Behaviour, Inclusion and Ready to Learn procedures, and be available should we need to contact you for support with your child’s behaviour;

• attend meetings when invited into the Academy and respond to phone calls / emails; 

• when signposted to support, actively support your child to access it.
