Y11 Prom Thursday 4th July 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are looking forward to celebrating with Year 11 at their Prom on Thursday 4th July 2024 at     The Grange Hotel, Old Gloucester Road, Winterbourne BS36 1RP.  We are very excited for the event to take place for our students to celebrate their passage of time through Hanham Woods Academy.

Tickets will be issued in term 6 once final payments are completed, however the Academy reserves the right to withdraw the said ticket should your son or daughter not continue to adhere to the Academy’s high expectations.

The prom begins for invited students at 7:30pm and collection time is 10.30pm. We would advise that due to the number of cars and limos arriving at the venue that you aim for cars to arrive between 6:40pm and 7:20pm. Students will be welcomed into The Grange from 7:30pm and are registered on entry. Please be prompt collecting your son or daughter from the front of The Grange at 10.30pm. Parents and guests are very welcome to come to the venue to watch the arrival and entrance of students and share in this photographic opportunity. Please note however that students will not be allowed to bring guests into the venue or grounds after, therefore we ask that parents adhere to the requests of The Grange and Academy staff with regards to remaining in viewing areas. This will ensure the safe arrival of all our students in their various forms of transport.

The prom is always a very enjoyable occasion but as well as the normal Hanham Woods Academy expectations, there are some protocols that students must adhere to. As part of The Grange’s function policy, no alcohol is available on the evening and students should not bring any alcohol with them or be under the influence of alcohol on arrival. Bag searches will take place before entry to the venue and security & staff will be present throughout the evening to ensure the safety of all our students and are authorised to carry out random bag searches if necessary. If any student arrives and is deemed to be ‘under the influence’ they will be refused entry without a refund, and you will be asked to collect them from the venue at your cost.

There will be a formal prom photographer at the evening enabling students to have individual/group or friendship photographs.  No money is required for photographs during the event as all the photographs will be available to purchase via the photographer’s professional website from the following day. A group photograph will also be taken.

We would ask that you pay the remainder of your balance for Prom by Friday 7th June. Tickets are not issued until this has been completed and full payment is received.

We hope that all our students attending the function will really enjoy themselves and that it will be a wonderful and memorable evening. We look forward to celebrating with the Year 11 students at their Prom and wish them every success in their exams.

Kind regards,

Miss Grace Foley & Mrs Rebecca Tushingham, the Year 11 team
