Y9 Options Update
Dear Parents / Carers,
Thank you for your support with the Year 9 Options process this year. This letter is to update you on our current progress. There has been good progress with the options process, and we still expect to confirm choices with you and your child in May.
As you may be aware, I am having one-to-one conversations with students where their first-choice option is no longer available and having discussions about their second choice. For many students this has been a straightforward swap, for others they have asked for more time to discuss with parents/ carers. If you would like to have a phone call, please contact me by email ([email protected]) to arrange a date and time. Face-to-face meetings can also be arranged if needed.
If you/ your child has not been spoken to and they continue to not have a meeting with me in week 1 and 2 of term 5, you can assume that your child has had their first choices accepted.
All parent/carers will receive a letter confirming their child’s choices by the fifth week of this term 5.
Below is a revised timeline for the Options process.
| Term 4 | Mrs Gardner has had one-to-one meetings with students affected by classes no longer running. |
| Term 5 | Week 1 and 2: one-to-one meetings continue with time for students to make second choices. Week 4 Mrs Gardner meeting with all year 9 students to ensure all choices are correct Week 5 letter goes home confirming choices. Staff at HWA can start building timetables for next academic year. |
| Term 6 | Final assessments of year 9 further information will be given in term 6. |
