Year 7 Pastoral Support - Hanham Woods Academy

Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you for supporting the Academy in ensuring a strong start to Term 3 for Year 7. We have seen students rise to our expectations as they continue their transition from primary school. It has been amazing to see students really embody our values of Dream Big, Work Hard and Be Kind.

The purpose of this letter is to:

Provide an update on the pastoral support available to Year 7 students

You may be aware that Ms Wilshire left the Academy on Friday after securing a new role working outside of education. She has been a highly valued member of the team here at Hanham and I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing her well for the future.

For an interim period, whilst the Academy recruits a new permanent Pastoral Leader, students can visit L7 and speak to any Pastoral Leader for support (Mr Snow, Mrs Smith, Mrs Thurston or Mrs Burt). This has already been communicated to students in assembly. I am hoping to have a temporary person seconded to the role by the end of the week whilst a permanent replacement is sought through a recruitment process.
