Hanham Woods Year 11 boys crowned triple football champions

The Year 11 Boys Football Team at Hanham Woods Academy has enjoyed an extraordinary season, emerging as South Gloucestershire Champions, Bristol & South Gloucestershire Champions, and Gloucestershire County Cup Champions – a remarkable triple achievement that reflects both their talent and dedication.

In their final triumph, the team secured a 2-0 victory over Rednock School. Billy Amos showed nerves of steel as he calmly converted a well-taken penalty, while Omar Bojang delivered a moment of brilliance with a superb goal to seal the win.

Elliott Swanton, Curriculum Leader for Physical Education at Hanham Woods Academy, praised the team. He said: “It was a good game and a really good performance by our boys. They’ve grown not only as a team but as individuals.

“It’s been a fantastic year of football.”

The academy also extends heartfelt thanks to all parents and families for their ongoing support throughout the season.

This success is a testament to the collective effort and commitment of the players, staff, and community.
