Last week of GCSEs and Leavers Event Update

Dear all, the final week of the GCSE exams approaches. We are so very proud of our year 11 students who have shown grit, determination and also kindness towards each other through what has been a gruelling process.

Students are expected to attend full time this week and exams/intervention sessions only next week.

The only intervention sessions running next week are Food and Nutrition P3 and 4 Monday 19th and Further Maths P5 and 6 Monday 19ths. Students attending these sessions need to arrive just before they start and will sign out straight afterwards.

Please be aware that the national exam contingency date of the 28th June, this date would be utilised in the event that one of the remaining exams is cancelled nationally. We would advise that students ensure that they would be available on this date until the end of the exams period to ensure that should unforeseen circumstances result in the use of this date that they would be able to attend.

We would like to invite year 11 students back into the Academy on Friday 23rd June between 9am and 10am for a special leavers event. Students need to wear school uniform but can choose to attend wearing a signing shirt or bring with them a shirt for peers and staff to sign. This will be a chance for us to celebrate the time that students have spent with us at the Academy and say a fond farewell before the Prom on 6th July and Results Day on 24th August.

It is important for students to note that behaviour at the Leavers Event needs to meet Academy expectations. Any failure to meet behaviour expectations will result in students being sent home early from the Leavers Event and may put Prom invitations at risk.

A final communication will go out to parents and carers about collecting results before the end of term 6.

In the meantime please contact the year team directly should you have any questions or queries
