Steps to Success Parents Information
Welcome year 11 parents and carers to the year 11 blog. During year 11 we like to keep in regular contact to make sure that you know what is happening inside the Academy to support your child in this all important GCSE year. Following on from last weeks well attended Steps to Success event here are they key takeaways to support your child in making a strong start to the year.
Intervention
After Acdemy Intervention starts from 18th Sept, sessions are designed to be high impact and supportive. Students may wish to alternate subjects where there is an overlap on certain afternoons.
Revision Guide Catalogue
Follow the link to access our 2023 – 24 revision guide catalogue. Guides can be ordered via the scopay portal and will be delivered to your child in school.
Revising Sucessfully
PPEs are only weeks away with the first exams taking place on Wednesday 18th October. Students have been supported to make revision timetables and are busy creating flashcards in tutor sessions. The most suppotive thing you can do as a parent is make sure that revision is active, by which we mean involves some sort of self testing. Re-reading notes or revision guides isnt very high impact and can give the illusion of hours spent studying when actually short bursts of self or parent testing is more manageable and has better results!
