Industrial Action Update – Onsite & Online Learning Arrangements

Dear Parents/Carers

I wrote to you last week informing you of the Academy being closed to Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 students on Wednesday 1st February, due to the industrial action taking place.

As per my letter last week, I wanted to update you with the online learning arrangements for Wednesday that students who are at home will need to follow.

Online learning for Wednesday 1st February:

Students will need to be online from 08:30 ready to access a virtual assembly at 08:35 (a link to this will be posted to students on Show My Homework).

From 09:00 students will be expected to follow the timetable below (tasks/links will be set on Show My Homework):

Year 11 students who are not attending the Academy tomorrow will also have work set on SMHW for the day.

Students attending the Academy on Wednesday 1st February

For the small group of students who are attending the Academy on Wednesday, students are expected to arrive on site at the normal time (08:10 – 08:30) and make their way to the Canteen. From there they will be directed to their provision for the day. The Canteen will be open as normal for students attending onsite provision. Resource Base students should go the Resource Base as per their normal routine.

Any student attending the Academy on Wednesday 1st February will need to be in full Academy uniform and arrive at the normal time (by 08:30am). The Academy Day will finish as normal at 15:00. No enrichment activities will be available at the end of the Academy Day on Wednesday.

All students are expected back in the Academy as normal on Thursday 2nd February.

Thank you again for your continued support and for your patience and understanding during this period of industrial action.
