Parent/Carer Forum – Thursday 1st February 2024

Dear Parents/Carers, 

Our next Parent/Carer Forum is on Thursday 1st February 2024, in person at the Academy, from 5.30pm until 6.30pm.  

The purpose of Parent/Carer forums is to provide you with further insights into the Academy whilst providing opportunities for you to feedback and work with us to make further improvements. We really value your feedback and hope you are able to attend. 

This term’s Parent/Carer Forum will focus on creating an Inclusive Culture and particularly our school Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) vision and strategy. We will be joined by the Cabot Learning Federation’s EDI Lead, Saima Ahktar.

Our EDI strategy is an important part of the school improvement journey and we have been working with staff and students this year to evaluate current provision so we can identify the clear steps on how we will become a centre of excellence for inclusive practice. There have been a number of interesting developments this year for example we are currently working with South Gloucestershire Council on achieving the Equality Mark and we are the first school in the local area to train staff on becoming Anti-Hate Ambassadors. We will also be having our first Festival of Culture organised by Year 11 students next term.

During the Parent/Carer forum, you will be able to find out more about the school’s EDI strategy, hear from the CLF Trust lead and contribute and share your views and questions.

Your voice and feedback is really important. We would really like for you to attend and help shape this exciting new stage in the school’s improvement journey.
