Ski Trip 2025
Dear Parents/Carers,
Following our communication at the end of last term about the Ski Trip, I wanted to update you further.
Mr Swanton (trip lead) has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the trip on (it was at risk of being cancelled which has delayed our communication to you). We can now confirm that the trip will run in 2025 as planned due to the hard work of Mr Swanton and the support of colleagues who will give up their own time to support this wonderful opportunity for students.
There have been unprecedented levels of interest for this trip, and as a result we have had to make some difficult decisions about who is able to attend. Due to the high demand (more than double what we have previously experienced) we have decided to prioritise the older Year Groups, as this is their last opportunity to attend an Academy ski trip.
This means that, unfortunately, Year 7 students will not be able to attend (as they are likely to get another opportunity and be prioritised on the next ski trip). It is not a decision we have taken lightly, and I know this will be difficult news for some students – we apologise for any disappointment.
To summarise:
- Year 9 and 10 students will be given priority to attend the Ski trip
- Year 8 students will have their names drawn randomly for the remaining places (those not successful will get another opportunity in the future)
- Year 7 students will not be considered to attend this trip, but will get another opportunity in the future
- All students who have already paid a deposit, who did not secure a place, will receive a full refund

- to confirm which students have secured a place on the ski trip and next steps
- to confirm how to receive a refund for those students who have not been successful in securing a place on the ski trip,
