Term 6_Week 5_Update Letter

Dear Parents / Carers,

As we approach the halfway mark of Term 6, I wanted to provide a brief update on the Year Team structure for the next Academic year.

Providing excellent academic and pastoral support for each year group is a key part of fulfilling our mission of giving people the best chance of success.

Our model revolves around the Academic Leads (members of the Senior Team) remaining in a year phase as they have a year specific responsibility such as the options process in year 9 or transition in year 7. However, to provide some stability the Pastoral Leader will move with their year group up through the Academy (the only exception to this is Mrs Smith who, due to her involvement in transition, will work with our new Year 7 cohort in September, passing the current Year 7 to Mrs Thurston, (our most experienced Pastoral Leader).

Below is the Year Team structure that will be in place from September 2023:

We will shortly be communicating this to students and arranging for current Year 7 students to begin a handover from Mrs Smith to Mrs Thurston before the end of term.
