Y9 Progress Reports

Dear Parents/Carers,

Year 9 – Progress Reports

Your child received their progress report yesterday afternoon which has assessment data, behaviour and attendance data present.

I would like to clarify that the assessment data mark is for the recent assessment that your child has undertaken in the different subjects with the total mark available in the table.

The DOOYA grade is a holistic grade awarded by the teacher using a variety of evidence to provide their judgement from the start of the academic year. This includes; assessment data, book work, homework, contributions in lessons (either verbal or written responses) and engagement with the subject. This DOOYA grade is specific for each child and subject so there may be occasions where your child has a higher score but a lower DOOYA or vice versa. They may also have the same mark as another student, but the DOOYA grade might be different.

We hope that this data will help to support conversations in the Parents Evening this evening and with the GCSE options process. A reminder that the deadline for forms to be given in is Friday 1st March in the red box under the ICT stairs.

Yours Sincerely,

Mrs R Gardner Associate Assistant Principal – Raising Attainment
