Year 10: PPE Letter

Dear Parents and Carers,

Year 10 students will be completing End of Year Assessments in all subjects in the form of PPE (Pre-Public Assessments) between 19th June and 13th July.

Students are currently being prepared by subject teachers, to provide them with the best chance of success in these exams. To further support students, we would recommend purchasing revision guides, all of which are available to buy online via the online payment system.

Once purchased by the parent/carer, the books are ordered by our Finance Team and then passed to the students at the Academy on delivery.  As an Academy we are able to take advantage of buying in bulk and therefore often secure these books at a discounted price.  We are able to pass this discount onto parents/carers, so the price on our online payment system is usually the same or cheaper as other retailers online.

To browse the recommended revision guides you can access our revision guide catalogue here:

During the PPE period students will have 1-2 exams per day which take place during lesson 1-2 and 5-6.  To support students we run ‘pep’ talks during tutor time or the last 15 minutes of lesson 4 each day.  During these talks, a subject specialist provides an overview of the paper, discusses exam strategy and covers key points to ensure that students are primed and ready to perform to the best of their ability.  This is also as chance for the Year Team to check in with students and support with any last minute nerves.

During the PPE period it is essential that students are onsite on time and have a clear exams pencil case and clear bottle of water with them. Exam pencil cases can be purchased from reception for £1 during break and lunch.

Students will receive individual exam timetables next week which will detail exam venue, seat and row for each PPE.  Students need to keep these safe and be able to refer to them each morning so that they know where they are going on the day.

During the PPEs please direct any exams related questions to [email protected]

Many thanks
